As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The submitted article has been written according to the journal template.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

PoliGrid is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal published by the Department of Electrical Engineering, Politeknik Negeri Samarinda. The journal publishes articles in the broad areas of electrical engineering comprising electrical energy generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization. Due to the trend of several electric technologies, PoliGrid also accommodates smart grids, renewable energy, automation, robotics, electric vehicles, and IoT.

 

Structure: It is arranged due to the article requirements. However, it is common to draw up as follows: Abstrak/Abstract; Pendahuluan/Introduction, Tinjauan Pustaka/Literature Review, Metode/ Method, Hasil dan Pembahasan/Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

  1. Abstrak/Abstract is presented in a paragraph with up to 250 words. Abstract is written in correspond language; for example, use Bahasa Indonesia if the article is in Bahasa Indonesia. Abstract should contain the main ideas of Pendahuluan, Tinjauan Pustaka, Metode Penelitian, Hasil dan Pembahasan, and Kesimpulan. The keyword consists of three to eight words.
  1. Pendahuluan/Introduction explains clearly the background and the aims of the research.
  2. Tinjauan Pustaka/Literature Review discusses basic theories. It may also discuss the results of other research that is required to provide the solution. Each should refer to article in references.
  3. Metode Penelitian/Research Method consists how research methods are developed.
  4. Hasil dan Pembahasan/Result and Discussion is the essence of the article. It presents data, analysis the trend of the data, and obtains research finding. This section commonly presents table, figure, graphs to support the discussion.     
  5. Kesimpulan/Conclusion delivers summary of the results found in the previous section. It should be written clearly and briefly in a short sentence.  
  6. Referensi presents list of the referred articles. It could be obtained from text books, journal or conference articles, white books, or any other technical or scientific writings.

 

The Article LayoutThe basic layout of the articles is as follows:

  1. The articles page size is A4 (21.0 x 29.7 cm)
  2. The page setup is Upper 25.4 mm, Bottom 25.4 mm, Left and Right 13 mm
  3. The article is presented in .doc, docx file
  4. It could be written in either Bahasa Indonesia or English
  5. PoliGrid has not implemented the maximum page numbers.
  6. The article is divided into two parts: header and body. The header includes the title, authors, affiliation(s), and correspondence email, that is arranged in one column. Meanwhile, the body, that begins from abstract to reference is arranged in two columns.
  7. Title is written in Times New Roman, 24 pts., center alignment, with capitalize each word.
  8. The author's name is written in Times New Roman, capitalize each word, 11 pts., and center alignment.
  9. The affiliation and correspondence email are written in Times New Roman, capitalize each word, 10 pts, with center alignment.
  10. Abstract is written with 9 pts., bold, Times New Roman.
  11. The keyword should be written in 9 pts., bold, italic, Times New Roman.
  12. As the article consists of several sections, each section’s title is written Times New Roman font with the format is as the same as in PoliGrid Template
  13. Each section is numbered with Roman number. Sub section is numbered with alphabet with the format is as the same as in PoliGrid Template
  14. Paragraph is performed in Justify (left and right alignment).
  15. The transitional distance of a new paragraph or indent is 7.5 mm.

 

Figures and Tables: The layout of figures and tables is as follows:

  1. Figures and tables should be put at the top or bottom of a column.
  2. If the size of the figure and tables requires two columns width, the layout could be modified to one column.
  3. Please ensure that figures or tables are sharp and clear.
  4. The name of the figure uses 8 points Times New Roman font, followed by Arabic number and figure title. For instance, Gambar 1. Kode warna resistor (in Bahasa Indonesia), or Figure 1. Resistor color code (in English). It is written below the figure.
  5. The name of the table is written with 8 points, uppercase, Times New Roman, and located on top of the table with center alignment. The layout could be found in PoliGrid Template.

 

References: Each quote in the text of the article should refer to the numbers in the references and written in accordance with the IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) style with the website: https://www.ieee.org and the sequence of numbers corresponding to the quotation. If the first author is quoted in the front, then enter the first order and so on.

 

Article Submission Limit:

  • For June Edition (Number 1) Last on June 10th
  • For December Edition (Number 2) Last on December 10th

 

Easy Steps: To facilitate authors to publish to PoliGrid, the easy steps the author should do is as follows:

  1. The article should be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English and be submitted online via Open Journal Systems (OJS).
  2. Please download the journal template at Download PoliGrid template
  3. Customize the layout and write using the standard template to make review and publishing processes easier.
  4. Prior to submitting article, a new author is required to provide an account and follow other registration procedure online at the PoliGrid website.
  5. If it is not the first submission, the author is only required to log in and follow the procedures.
  6. Once the submission process has been completed, the author should follow the stages of journal review process.
  7. The information would be forwarded to the author’s email. Hence please ensure that the email and password in PoliGrid is valid.
  8. It may take revisions to improve the articles to be published. The authors should response and revise as soon as possible to obtain a publish ready article.
